A Legacy of
Excellence
Stewart Dorrington comes from a family that has farmed and hunted in South Africa for the past 100 years. Stewart was one of the pioneers of the game industry in South Africa and developed the family farm into the famous Melorani Wildlife Reserve.
Roots in the wild
Since 1986, Stewart has provided personalized safaris in Africa, focusing mostly on bowhunting on the renowned Melorani Wildlife Reserve.
In 2022, Melorani was bought out by the government for land restitution. This has enabled the family to seek new areas and partners to work with. With this change, a new generation of young professional hunters has taken root in the family who are energetic, keen, and eager to take you on safari. No longer focusing solely on bow hunting, Dorrington Safaris now offer hunting, fishing, shooting, and game viewing to all who seek adventure and wilderness in Africa.
“We match your needs and desires to the right area and to the fit-for-purpose outfitter to optimize your chances of success. While we focus more on the hunting experience rather than the size of the trophy, we nevertheless take some exceptional trophies annually. Our extensive knowledge of the industry and connections to top operators and best areas in Africa ensure that we deliver exceptional experiences.”
Through an extensive network of contacts throughout Southern Africa, Dorrington Safaris are able to take you to the very best spots. Stewart is a past President of the Professional Hunters Association of South Africa having held office from 2005 to 2007 and also served as Chairman of the newly established Custodians of Professional Hunting and Conservation-SA. This is an organization that promotes ethical and fair chase hunting above financial reward.
Dorrington Safaris supports hunting in extensive wildlife systems where animals occur free and wild in their natural habitats. If an authentic African hunting experience, as made famous by generations of big game hunters in Africa, is what you seek then keep reading.
Whether it is your first time, or you are an experienced hunter, we will take you to places that few get to hunt, with reputable and ethical outfitters, ensuring that your experience will be nothing short of extraordinary.”
