A new generation is taking Dorrington Safaris forward into an exciting future. Richard, under the guidance and tutorship of his father Stewart, is taking our family tradition of hunting and conservation into the future.
We are now partnering our safaris with the Knotts of Greater Kuduland Safaris in northern Limpopo, a great extensive bushveld area with diverse habitats and species. It is a hunting paradise!
There are many similarities between Greater Kuduland and Melorani our old family ranch. Both have been family owned for many generations and both have played a pioneering part in the early stages of wildlife conservation and safaris on private land. The first game auction ever in South Africa was held by the Knotts under a baobab tree decades ago, before game farming became an industry or had much monetary value. Both families have a love and understanding of the role hunters play in sustaining wildlife populations in South Africa.
Now both have a 4th generation to carry our hunting traditions, ethics and values into the future.
Gavin Knott and Richard are the same age and are best friends. Each brings something special to your African experience. While Gavin brings the family extensive big 5 property to the party, Richard brings his dangerous game experiences and contacts outside Greater Kuduland. This combination ensures hunters can have a complete African experience spread over years and countries.
